A New Vision for K–12 Education: Success Academy Opens Its Bronx Campus
Project Annoucement
Davella contributes hospitality consulting and foodservice design to SOM's innovative 310,000-square-foot educational campus in New York City.
The future of education is taking shape in the South Bronx.
Success Academy has opened its new Bronx K–12 Campus, a 310,000-square-foot facility designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) to bring elementary, middle, and high school students together in a purpose-built learning environment.
Serving approximately 2,400 students annually, the campus represents a significant investment in educational innovation, community, and the student experience.
Designing for the Whole Student Experience
The campus reimagines the traditional school environment through spaces that encourage collaboration, creativity, and connection. A multilevel central corridor connects learning environments, while specialized facilities —including a 300-seat auditorium, dance studios, athletic spaces, and outdoor terraces — support an educational experience extending well beyond the classroom.
Supporting that vision requires thoughtful attention to the essential services that sustain a school community every day.
Davella's Role in Foodservice Design
As part of the project team, Davella provided hospitality consulting and foodservice design services for the new campus.
In educational environments, foodservice infrastructure plays an important role in supporting daily operations and the broader student experience. Thoughtful food & beverage planning helps create the foundation for efficient meal preparation, service, and the evolving needs of students and faculty.
Davella is proud to have contributed its expertise to a project that brings together architectural innovation, educational ambition, and community investment.
Congratulations to Success Academy, SOM, and the entire project team on this milestone.
