The Morris Proper
Located within Sanofi’s new headquarters in Morristown, New Jersey, The Morris Proper reimagines the workplace dining experience as a fully realized hospitality destination, blending the accessibility of a daytime food concept with the refinement of an evening bar and restaurant.
Spanning 12,000 square feet, the concept integrates dining, lounge, private, and outdoor spaces, anchored by a bar designed to support a highly flexible beverage program. Rooted in a farm-to-table philosophy, the culinary and cocktail offerings emphasize seasonality, craftsmanship, and a balance of approachability and sophistication.
Davella Studios led the strategic planning and foodservice design, developing a dual-purpose bar capable of high-volume daytime service while seamlessly transitioning into an elevated bar and dining experience at night. This required a highly intentional approach to workflow, ensuring all culinary functions operate within an optimized, ergonomic radius to maximize efficiency, consistency, and speed of service.
The design balances operational performance with a cohesive visual identity. Vertical storage integration and durable, responsive materials allow the space to withstand high traffic while evolving atmospherically throughout the day, transforming from bright and open to intimate and layered at night.
The result is an environment that adapts fluidly to changing service demands, enabling the program to expand or contract as needed while maintaining a consistent, elevated guest experience, and setting a new standard for flexibility and performance in hospitality design.
